Today Bodhi became part of the team
Our newest addition to Team Ineka is Bodhi. Just a year old this past January I wanted to wait until he was over a year old before we put him in a big team for a training run.
Today we ran Bodhi in a ten dog team around Windy Lake. Not too far but he did great! I had him hooked up to Rabbit an older (11) veteran that could teach him a thing or two and check him if he got outta hand.

Musher Poem
My wife left this little poem for me one morning on the bathroom mirror. I am so grateful to have a wonderful gal like that in my corner. Thanks sweetie.
Man who loves the snow
Ultimate sensitivity to the world around him
Shear desire to be the best he can be
Heart as big as the tundra, just a lot warmer
Endurance, energy, excitement
Races to win, and races to be the best
A visit with Team Ineka
I was interviewed yesterday for a blog about my dogs and Team Ineka. I am so thankful for the opportunity. Check it out!
Oh Dog! I am SO excited! Today I’m talking with Robert Forto of Dog Works Training Centers about his sled dog teams.
Why am I so excited? Well, as you know, I am a Malamute, and Malamutes were bred as Arctic work dogs, just as theSiberian Huskys that Robert works with. Read more…

Notes: Good run today. Continued to work on extended stops. With the two leaders we ran today they like to turn around back into the team so with the extended stopping exercises and “line out” command we hope to fix this one issue with our leaders.

Notes: Tried something new today. Hooked up Marble in single lead. We knew right off the bat it was a bad idea! She headed into every open driveway and chased after dogs in the neighbor’s yards. We moved Bird up with her and the run went very well. We worked on “line out” and exteneded stops today, up to 5 minutes at one point.
